The Board of Works of the City of Richmond,
1/. • Indiana, met in regular session at the office
of said _Board, Tuesday Febuary 12, 1935 at 9:00
o 'clock A.M. All the members of said Board being
_ presnt.. Messrs. Walterman, Wm. Kelley Jr and Simeon
Hodgin -being present, the following proceedings
- were had to-wit :
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Building Inspector Edward Higgs, reported that
the bell located in No. 4 fire' house should be removed
'as the timbers supporting same were in very bad
condition. The Board ordered Mr. Higgs to get prices
on the removal of same and report to the Board for
their approval.
City Engineer Hodgin read a communication from
the State Highway Department in regards to the
new building said department was going to build,
and stated that when they were ready to go ahead
with this building program, they would get in touch
with the City. Mr. Hodgin suggested that we take
this proposition up with some of the local Improv-
ment Societies, in an effort to have some land
• donated for this building.
Mr. Hodgin also reported that he had been in
touch with the Superintendent of the . Street Rail-
- way Company and- that he had been promised that the
question of treckless trolleys would be given the
proper consideration.
Street Superintendent Burkhardt asked permission
to paint traffic line down the center of North 5th •
street over the overhead bridge, the Board granted
this permission.He also asked 'for permission- to
remove Turn Right on Red sign from the north west
corner of 16th and Main street and place same at
•
the north east corner of West 1st and Main street,
the Board also granted this permission.
Dr. H.D. Clark appeared before the Board in
regards to the contract for operating a dog pound
and the Board agreed to allow this contract to start
Feouary 15, 1935 and continue for two months at the -
price of $150. per month.
The Board then adjourned
