City of Richmond, Indiana,
Tuesday January 1, 1935.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmondt,
Indiana,met in regular session at their office on -
Tuesday January 1st, 1935, at 1 o 'clock P. M. all
the members of said Board Messrs, Joseph E. Walterman,
William Kelley Jr. and Simeon Hodgin, being present
the following proceedings were had, to!wit :
• Chief of the Fire Department, Harry Williams, appeared
before the Board and submitted the name of Robert
Connerton for appointment tothe Fire Department, this
being approved by the Board, Mr® Williams also presented
, • the names of Roy Bennett, Elwood Richardson and Russell
Garrett , three colored men and explained that although
there had been no appropiation made for these men, he
had been assured by the members of the Common Council
that such an appropiation would be made acting on this
report, the Board approved the names of these three
men.
• Mr. Williams also explained to the Board that it would
nessecary to make some changes in the ratings of the
Department and these changes were also approved. by the
Board.
The Board then adjourned.
