Monday December 3rd, 1934.,
The Spedial Council Committee, Board' of Public Works of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board
Monday December 3rd, 1934, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said
Board, Messrs, Crabb., Schnieder .and Williams being present, the fol-
lowing proceedings were had, to-wit:
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.
Permission was granted Joe Puthoffn to cut the curb for a 24' driveway
on east side of South 8th Street between Main and South "A" Street at
Lot No. 3, C. W. Starrs, 3rd Addition.
The Board approved the payrolls to Dec. 1st, 1934, and claims in the
amount of $1821.74, were allowed.
Mr. Chas. Hurd, Consulting Engineer, appeared before the Board, with
the necessary resolutions, ordinances, etc. , covering the matter of
the construction of the interceptor sewers and sewage disposal works.
The Board on motion adjourned to 1 o 'clock P. M. to go over the
matter with the Mayor, City Attorney, the newly elected Mayor and
City Attorney and Engineer.
The Board met in. adjourned session at 1:30 o 'clock P. M. for the
purpose of hearing the resolutions, ordinances, etc. , necessary to
be acted upon by the Board, before the same can be presented to the
Common Council, Present at the meeting, Windsor B. Harris, Mayor;
R.K,Shiveley City Attorney, Board members Messrs, Crabb and Williams;
S.W.Hodgin City Civil Engineer and Wm. Kelley Jr. , the newly appointed
City Attorney, Mr. J. M. Waltermann the newly elected Mayor being
absent; as was also Mr. Schnieder Board member, the following pro-
ceedings were had, to-wit :
After some discuaeion of the matter, City Attorney Shiveley, stated
he had not seen any of the papers to be presented so as to enable him
to makbca study of them, Mr. Crabb., stated that he did not think the
present Board should take action in the matter in the absence of the
new Mayor, Mr. Waltermann; Messrs, Harris and Sh ;veley, both stated
that the incoming administration would be the ones who would have to
bear. the burden and that they should be consulted, he voiced the op4n-
ion;the present Mayor, the incoming City Attorney- and Mr. Crabb;
Mr. Williams, desired to go on record as being in favor of going ahead
with the necessary preliminaries as fast as possible, Mr. Harris
requested Mr. Heard to leave copies of the various documents with
the officials to enable them to make a thorough study of the same.
No further action taken in the matter
The Board then adjourned,
