• Monday November 5th, 1934.
The Special Council Committee_, acting as a Board of Puolic Works of
• the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office
of said Board, Monday November 5th, 1934, at 9 o ' clock. A; M. All the
members of said Board, Messrs, Craoo, Schnieder and Williams being
present, the following proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the nreceeaing meeting were read and approved.
Specifications for changes in the driveways at South loth & Main Sts.
oy the Shell Petroleum Corp. ,at their filling station, were submitted
to the Board and the same referred to City Plan Co.1i�..;ssion for invest-
igation and report.
The following motion was duly and formerly made by Mr. Oscar .Williams
lviemoer of the acting Board;
That the special Committee, acting as and performing the duties ,
of a Board of Public Works, accept and approve the clans and' specifi-
cations for the Sewage TreatmentWorks for the City of Richmond, pre-
pared by Charles H. Hurd, Consulting Engineer, under the contract for
engineering services dated August 28, 1934, which plans and specifi-
cations are now before the Buard and have been examined by all members;
the City Civil Engineer, the City Attorney, and the Mayor; and that
the 16 0ard (Special Committee) hereby authorize the Mayor and the City
Civil Engineer to affix their signatures to the said planes and speci-
fications for intification. The motion was seconded by Mr. Schnieder
Member, and placed upon its Passage by Chairman(President ) Crabb,. .
The vote for the passage of the motion was as follows :
Williams - aye; Schnieder- aye ; Crabb - aye. The motion was declared
unanimously passed by Mr. Crabb., Chairman (President ) . ., .

droved on this date by the Special Committee, acting as and performins`rc
the duties of a Board of Public Works, with the Federal Public Work-s '
. Administration, the Indiana State Board of Health, the Indiana State:. -
Board of Accounts, and the Indiana State Architect , for examination
and approval. Motion seconded by Mr. Williams, placed on its passage
The vote for passage - of the motion was as follows : Schnieder - aye;
Williams - aye; Creob - aye. The motion was declared unanimously
passed by Mr. Crabb, Chairman (President ) .
The Board directed the Clerk to prepare a bill for an ordinance ap-
propriating the sum of 5 3F00.00 out of the general fund of the i:P.E.L.
& P.P. for the purchase of a large visible vacuum solution feed
chlorinator, complete with automatic control, necessary laoor and
materials for installation of the same at the power plant .
Upon recommendation of Mr. D. C. Hess , Supt. , of M.E.L.& P . P. the
Board award contract for 150 to 200 Oars of 2t:inch Nut & Slack of
(Raymond City Coal) from the Walter Bledsoe Coal Co. , 6 ;1. 50 per
ton f. o. o. North Bend, Ohio. , subject to cancellation by city, in
case coal does not work satisfactorily or if general coal prices
should be lower. (shipments approximately' two cars a day) .
