AWARDING BID FOR
HARRISON AVENUE PUMP STATION CONTRACT
WHEREAS, on October 23, 2001, the Borough of Carteret received six (6)
bids for the Harrison Avenue Pump Station Replacement Contract, No. 01-
11; and
WHEREAS, the Iow bid was received from A & _1 Construction Company,
5026 Industrial Road, Farmingdale, New ]jersey, 07727, in the amount of
$253,150.00; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer for the project, T&M
Associates, has recommended that the Borough award a contract for the
above referenced project to A& ]j Construction Company in accordance
with the Engineer's letter of October 24, 2001; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Chief Financial Officer has certified that finds
are available to award said contract.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New ]jersey, as follows:
1. The bid of A & ]j Construction Co., Farmindale, New
]jersey, in the amount of $253,:[50.00 for the Harrison Avenue Pump
Station Replacement Contract, No. 01-11, in conformance with the
contract bid specifications and contract documents in all respects is
hereby approved.
2. This award is contingent upon the review and
approval of the contract documents by the Borough Attorney, and the
approval of the N]J Department of Labor and Division of Wage and Hour
Compliance.
3. The Mayor and Borough Clerk are hereby authorized
to execute said contract on behalf of the Borough.
Adopted this 20th day of December, 2001
and certified as a true copy of the
original on December 21, 2001.
