The Special Council Committee, f Board of Public Works of the City
of Richmond, Indiana., - met in regular session at the office of said
Board Friday August 17th, 1934, at 9. o °clock A. M. All the members of
said •Board, Messrs, Crabb, Schnieder and Williams being present, the
following proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.

A petition signed by John, W. Mueller, for vacation of Northwest"E"
Street, (formerly Chestnut St. ) from west line of Northwest 7th Street
east, to east line of alley was received, and referred to City Plan
Commission.
The City Civil Engineer, submitted his : tabulation of proposals for
. Engineering Services on Intercepting Sewers and Sewage Treatment Plant
received by the Board on August 13th, 1934, as follows to-wit :
• 11 A. P. Jones & Co. , Total pay to Engineering firm, . $22,000.00;
Due Mr. Hurd for services rendered $2500.00, Othe cost to City for
Inspection and service-$6, 600.00; Total cost to City----$31, 100.00.
" Consoer," Townsend, Older & Quinlan Inc. , Total pay to Engineering
Vim, $33, 800.00; $2500.00 due Mr.Hurd, Total cost to City-$ 36,300.00 .

On motion of Mr. Schnieder, the Board authorize the Clerk, to request
the Ordinance Committee of Council, to prepare an ordinance requir-
ing all freight trucks to keep off of Main Street. n

26 Friday August 17th, 1934.
The petition filed with the State Board of Accounts of the State
of Indiana, praying that the Municipal Electric Lighting & Power
Plant of Richmond, Indiana set aside 32�o per annum in the Depreci- .
ati'on Reserve . Fund until said fund shall' have reached the amount
of $500, 000.00; and then the petitioners be relieved of setting
aside additional funds until such time as the Property and Plant
has depreciated to a point where good business would dictate that
a. larger amount be carried in Depreciation Reserve Fund, and re-
questing said Board to make an order providing that . a charge of
, 3$ per annum be charged to the Depreciation Reserve. The above
petition approved August 16th, 1934, signed, W.P.Cosgrove, State
Examiner.
In matter of petition filed with State Board of Accounts of
State. of Indiana, praying said Body, to cancel that part of the
obligation to the Depreciation Reserve Fund (under Order #10409) .
as ordered by the Public Service Commission of Indiana, as to
that part of the obligation to said Reserve Fund, which would be
. covered by equipment retired from service. The above petition
approved August 16th, 1934, signed by W.P.Cosgrove, State Examiner.
The Board received bids for repairing No. 4 Hose House by remov-
ing present gutter on main roof (except Dormer on east side) re-
place with 40 lb. Extra coated tin, repair slate roof & tower and
and dormer gutters, repair leak in spout on south side and paint
all valleys, ridge roll and deck on tower, with red metal paint,
also replace board on cornice on tower, all tin work (except conduc-
• tors) to be given one coat of paint, as follows to-wit :

" John H. Markley, bid; -- U168.00

" Chas. H. Crocker Co. , bid; $110.00
- - All bids taken under advisement until after appropriation •
pending oefore council is passed.
The Board approved the various payrolls to August 16th, 1934.
. Claims in amount -of $8 71. 81, were allowed. •
