Monday August 6th, 1934.
The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said
Board, Monday August 6th, 1934, at 9 o ' clock A.M. All the members
of said Board, Messrs, Orabb, Schnieder and Williams, being present
the following proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read.
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No.923 -1934,
for improvement of North 21st Street, by installing light posts &
light post system in said street, from Main to North "C" Street.
The Board instruct the Clerk. to present Grant Agreement between the
City & the United States of America in matter of intercepting sewers
& disposal works, together with ordinance approving said grant agree-
ment, to the. common council at their meeting to be held this P.M.
with the recommendations of the Board that said grant agreement be
accepted and ordinance be adopted.
A petition to the Public Service Commission of Indiana, praying that
the Municipal Electric Lighting & Power Plant, be relieved from com-
pliance with that part of of Order No. 10409, which requires repayment
in full with 4% interest of all moneys borrowed- from Depreciation Fund
of said plant, in matter of installing new equipment, - D. C. Hess
Supt. of Plant was authorized to file said petition with said Public .
Service Commission. •

A petition to the State Board of Accounts, praying that said Board
make ' a.n order providing that a' charge of 3-% per annum be charged to
Depreciation Reserve, of the M.E.L.& P.P. and said amount be set aside
until said fund shall amount to 500,000.00; and then the M.E.L.& P.P.
be relieved of setting aside additional funds until such a time as
the Property and Plant has depreciated to a point where good business
would dictate that a larger amount be carried in the Depreciation
Reserve und. . D. C. Hess, Supt . of Plant was directed to proceed
to Indianapolis, and file said petition, with State Board of Accts.
Claims in amount of $1620.44, were allowed.
