Friday July 6th, 1934.
The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board
Friday July 6th, 1934, at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members of Board
Messrs, Orabb, Schnieder and Williams being present , the following
proceedings were had, to--wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.
Application of Geo. M. Guyer, for the position of Supervising. th.e
erection of the "Stage" to be built in Glen Miller Park, was received
and placed on file for future reference.
_ The Clerk was directed to notify Hudelson Bros. , to remove obstruct-
ion placed in alley abutting Lot 16 Grand Boulevard Addition, situate
between North 20th & 21s.t Street, running south from Glen Ave. ,
D. C.Hess, Sup 't. , of Light Plant, was authorized to place a limit
on the amount of Insurance carried on any one policy., covering Light
Plant property. In matter of fire, etc. ,
The Street Commissioner, was directed to repair South "A" Street,
by using Plant Mix, Cold-Mixed Asphalt A. C. Laid Cold, as per con-
tract awarded W.L.Magaw for said material. Also, to investigate &
repair bad brick pavement in North 7th Street, between "B" & "C"
Street reported by Councilman, J. J. Evans.
The Board received bid for lumaer to be used in erection of stage
at amphitheatre, in Glen Miller Park as follows, to-wit :
" Richmond Lumber Company, bid,
Complete with end matched flooring $419.37
" The Bell Lumber Company, bid;
Complete with end matched flooring 4419.96
The contract was awarded to The Richmond Lumber Company, being
the lowest bid received.
The Board awarded contracts for furnishing coal to various city property
as per bids received June 29th, 1934, as follows to-wit :
"Direct Coal Company, 150; tons, more or less, of E. Ky. , No. 7
Stoker Coal, at $5.11 per ton, delivered in basement at City Hall.
15 tons, more or less, Noo , 3 Pocahontas Lump Coal, delivered in bins
at Detention Hospital, at 86.41 per ton.
"Taylor & Thompson, 100. tons more or less, Run of Mine or Nut & Slack
to be delivered in bins at no. 2-3-4 & 5, Fire Stations as may be
directed by fire chief, at 45. 50 per ton.
" Richmond Coal Company, 50 tons or more, f.o.b. cars as may be directed.
by Park Sup 't. , at $5. +5 per ton, Pocahontas Nut Coal.
Claims in amount of 412,813. 66 were allowed.
