June 15, 1934. Gentlemen: The Retail Merchants Association, together with the Local Retail Code Authority, respectfully request your considers, ation of the fact that so long as the N.R.A. is in force, no bid on any contract covered by a code under the N.R.A.be considered a legitimate bid for City business, unless the bidder is opera- ting under his code. There is no personal angle to this request, it merely re- flects the attitude of the above organizations, whose members are operating under the retail code, and who do not believe it fair competition to encourage any firms not operating under the N.R.A. to. pursue their present policy. ' Yours very truly, R.M.Loehr, Presto W.M.Romey, Chairman Local Retail Code Authority. Pursuant to postponement to this date on bids received fo city Coal, the Board on motion reject all bids heretofore received on coal for city building, fire stations, parks and detention hospital, and directed the clerk to re-advertise for bids on furnishing said coal, and to state in said advertisement, that no bid will be considered fron any dealer or person, who is not operating under the N. R. A. Retail Code. The Board approve payrolls to June 16th, 1934, and allow claims in amount of $872. 10.
