A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING FUNDING OF THE 2014 4T" OF JULY CELEBRATION IN THE
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS AND
AUTHORZING STAFF TO SOLICIT VENDORS THROUGH THE INFORMAL BID
PROCESS
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood desires to present a community fireworks
celebration of July 4th; and
WHEREAS, the acquisition of services in support of this event is more
economically and efficiently attained and processed through the use of the informal bid
process; and
WHEREAS, per Chapter 6 -3.13 of the Lynwood Municipal Code, the City Council
by a 4/5 vote can approve acquisition of services through an alternate bid procedure.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Cit� Council hereby approves the expenditure not to exceed
$25,000 to provide for the 4t of July Celebration.
Section 2. The City Council waives the formal bid procedure for the acquisition
of a Pyrotechnic vendor for the provision of the 2014 fireworks display for July 4 t
Section 3. The City Manager of her designee is authorized to carry out any
transactions as so ordered by this Resolution.
Section 4. That the funding appropriation in the amount of $25,000 be
allocated from the General Fund Reserves to Account #1011.60.701.64020 and that
event revenues be deposited into Account #1011.60.33181.
Section 6. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 3rd day of June, 2014.
