OF THE CITY OF RIVERDALE, IOWA, PROCLAIMING
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 15, 2012 AS THE CITY OF RIVERDALE "QC WEAR PINK" DAY.
WHEREAS, the City of Riverdale supports the Riverdale and Bettendorf Fire Associations' efforts to raise
awareness of women's cancer education, treatment and survival in their communities through a national
event that will bring the Pink Fire Truck Tour to the Bettendorf/Riverdale area; and
WHEREAS, organizations, businesses and citizens are partners in the City of Riverdale, and are encouraged
to continue to support efforts that make the community a better places in which to live; and
WHEREAS, the Riverdale Council has declared Wednesday, August 15, 2012, as The City of Riverdale's "QC
wear pink" Day; and
WHEREAS, the Riverdale Council has challenged the City of Bettendorf to proclaim August 15, 2012, "QC
Wear Pink" Day, and to conduct activities -such as news conferences, public service announcements and
events in local schools and hospitals - on that day which highlight the different ways in which organizations,
businesses and citizens do partner with the Cities of Bettendorf/Riverdale to invest in their communities
through education, awareness and treatments to better the lives of all citizens;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Riverdale, Iowa, do hereby proclaim
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 as The City of Riverdale "QC Wear Pink" Day, and encourages the City of
Bettendorf, organizations, businesses and all citizens to recognize this event, and to work together on this
day to promote education, treatment and survival of women's cancer.
