HomeMy Public PortalAbout046-2022 - Amending Chapter 58 of RCC - re landfill fees ORDINANCE NO. 46-2022 A GENERAL ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 58 OF THE RICHMOND CODE REGARDING LANDFILL FEES WHEREAS, Chapter 58 of the Richmond Code currently sets forth certain fees in conjunction with the use of the Richmond Sanitary Landfill; and WHEREAS, I.C. 36-9-30-21 provides that the fiscal body of a governmental unit may determine fees associated with such unit's Sanitary Landfill; and WHEREAS, the Richmond Sanitary District Board of Commissioners has adopted Resolution 06-2022 on October 11, 2022 which approves amendments to landfill fees; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of Richmond that Chapter 58 of the Richmond Code (LANDFILL) is hereby amended as follows: 58.01 DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT FEES The Richmond Sanitary District Board of Commissioners is hereby authorized to amend the landfill fee system for disposal of trash, garbage and rubbish at the Richmond Sanitary Landfill. The Board, the Certified Landfill Operator, or their designee shall have the authority to determine which category any particular waste received shall be billed. The 2026 rates and charges set forth in the above table shall become effective for billings rendered after December 31, 2025.
