HomeMy Public PortalAbout2014.099 (06-17-14)RESOLUTION NO. 2014.099 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE RELEASE OF THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) TO SOLICIT BIDS FOR A CITIZEN REQUEST TRACKING SOLUTION TO MANAGE PUBLIC WORKS, CODE ENFORCEMENT, PARKING AND OTHER INTER- DEPARTMENTAL REQUESTS WHEREAS, The City is currently using GovPartner to track and manage internal and citizen service requests that pertain to Public Works, Code Enforcement, Parking Enforcement, and other departmental requests; and WHEREAS, The City has been using this service for the past 12 years and is looking for newer solutions that will help the City to manage and track service request more effectively; and WHEREAS, Staff has found limitations in the software and is using alternative methods to track issues causing delays in resolving service requests; and WHEREAS, The City is seeking a comprehensive software tracking solution that that will enable residents and staff to enter and track requests from any internet enabled device including a PC, tablet, and smart- phone; and WHEREAS, The Public Works Department receives a majority of the requests and will be the primary user of the software; and WHEREAS, The goal of the solution is to allow the City to respond quickly, succinctly and accurately to citizen and inter - departmental requests; and WHEREAS, The requested software will also have a customizable workflow so departments can track assignments requested by the City Manager and the City Council; and WHEREAS, A Code Enforcement module is also being solicited using similar criteria that will enable both residents and staff to enter and query permit applications from any electronic device. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes the release of the Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit bids for a citizen request tracking solution to manage Public Works, Code Enforcement, Parking, and other inter - departmental requests. Section 2. This Resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its adoption. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 17th day of June, 2014.
