The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session 'at the office of said Board '
Friday June 1st, 1934, at 9 o °olock A. M. All the members of said
Board, Messrs, Crabb,, -Schnieder and 'Williams' being present, the fol-
lowing proceedings were had, to- wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.
The Mayor and Police Chief, were authorized to investigate and report
the cost of installing' additional traffic lights necessary.
His Honor Windsor B. Harris, Mayor reported that Mr. E.' H. Harris of
the Palladium Publishing Corporation, had informed him, that 'if the
City desired to carry on entertainments etc. , at Glen Miller Park
amphitheatre, the services of Robert Reid, were still available for
management of the programs etc. , without any cost to the City for his
services, the Mayor was directed to notify. Mr.. E. H. Harris, that. his .
offer tendering the services of Mr. Reid, was greatly appreciated and
the same accepted, Mr. Reid to be placed in charge the same as was
done in the past year.
Upon the recommendation of the City Civil Engineer, the Board awarded
contracts for bituminous materials and aggregates as follows,viz: •

Plant Mix; Hot Mix Laid, Coated Aggregates, E. A. Mariani Co. , Inc. ,
" 19 Cold Mix Laid Cold-2xcaxxEAx AC. W. L. Magaw.
Rock Asphalt----E, A. Mariani Co. , Inc. ,
Aggregates, gravek and sand (all kinds) divided between the Richmond
Gravel Co. , and American Aggregates Corporation, as may be most con-
venient at time of purchase, (prices being the same ) .

A communication was received from State Board of Tax Commissioners of
Indiana. notifying the City, that they had fixed the value of that
part of the M.E..L.& P.P. that is used for commercial purposes for the
year 1934 , for taxes payable in 1935 at $2, 885,940.00. also, that
June 23rd, will be the last day for filing applications for review, .
of assessments for the session of the commissioners beginning July
3rd and ending July 14; Details as to procedure are given in Rule 5
(1925) . which was ordered placed on file, as the City Attorney and
Sup °t. , of Light Plant had been advised as to course to be taken.
Claims in amount of- 0.785.14 were allowed, and the Board approved
the various city payrolls to date.
