City of Richmond, Indiana,
Friday May llth, 1934.
The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Boar.
Friday May llth, 1934, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said
Board, Messrs, Crabb,, Schnieder and Williams being present, the fol-
1 lowing proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.
Permission was granted the Kantnok Gasoline Co. , to cut the curb and
construct a driveway on west side of South 10th Street, between Main
and South "A" Street at Lot No. 29, Bickle and Laws, Addition.
His Honor Windsor B. Harris, Mayor of the City, was granted permis-
sion to investigate, and to take any action he may think best in the
matter of changing the traffic signals in Main Street from the pres-
ent post system to a more modern system.
Mr. Hess, Sup 't. , of Light Plant reported, that under the present
program, they would be through with laying conduits for the under-
ground system, and that he had been requested by Mr. Reid, the Wayne
County head of the FERA, to extend the present project in order to
C:a give employment to men working on said system until October, 1934.
Mr. Hess, stated the appropriation for this work was about used up
and he could not extend this work unless additional appropriations
were made therefore. Mr. Hess was instructed to investigate as to th
amount necessary to extend this work and report to the Board.
The matter of filing a petition with the Public Service Commission
and. requesting that the M. +,.L.& P.P. be relieved from paying back
monies borrowed from M. E.L.& P.P.Deppeciatin Reserve Account with
interest on or before January 1st, 1936, as promulgated in the order
of the former commd)ssion, was boeught up and discussed at some length
by the Sup 't. , City Attorney and Board, not being able to reach any
agreement the matter was deferred to a future date.
Claims in amount of $2607. 52, were allowed.
The Board then adjour ed,
