The Special . Counbil Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of
Richmond, Tndiana, met in regular session at the office of said BoardFriday March 9th, 193 -, at 9 o."clock Aa v.. All the members of said Board
Messrs, C.rabb, Schnieder and Williams being present, the following
proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.
Pursuant to request of the Board of Works, for a. meeting with the
Board of Trustees of Reid Mertlprial• Hospital, in an of f or t.` to remove
the Detention or Contagious Hospital from West Main & lith Street,
and have a contagious Ward established at Reid Memorial Hospital;
The Board met in conference with Messrs., George Hggemey er and Harr '
Reeves, two members of a committee selected by the Board of Trustees
of Reid Memorial Hospital, in matter of establishing a Contagion
Ward at the Hospital to take care of contagious diseases. The Com-
mittee reported there was no way at present to take care of contag-
ious diseases at the hospital.. After some discu $ion of the question
it was the opinion as stated by them, that it would probably be best
to erect a separate building consisting of four or more rooms near
the hospital the same to be isolated from hospital buildings, the
same to be under the supervision of the hospital; Mr. Reeves, who
is also the Trustee of Wayne Township stated the, contagion ward if •
erected should embrace the whole of Wayne Township; The Board re-
quested Mr. Reeves, to take up the matter with the other members of
the Hospital Trustees in an effort to determine what should be done •
and to submit tentative plans for a building together with the prob-
able cost of the same, also, the cost to properly equip said build-
ing, and manner in which said contagious ward should be managed.
Claims in amount of 417,373 . 61 were allowed.
