RESOLUTION NO. 23-087
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
OPA-LOCKA, AUTHORIZING QUARTERLY EXPENDITURES,
FOR THE REMAINDER OF FISCAL YEAR 2022-2023, RELATED TO
MAYOR TAYLOR'S BUSINESS LUNCHEON FOR SMALL
BUSINESSES, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE THOUSAND,
FIVE HUNDRED THIRTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($1,535.00), EACH
QUARTERLY EVENT; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF
RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, it is imperative the City of Opa-Locka ("City") ensures that small
businesses are supported and have all the necessary tools, resources, and current
information for success; and
WHEREAS, therefore, Mayor Taylor quarterly hosts a networking event curated
for the City's business community; and
WHEREAS, this Event requires an approval of expenses, attached hereto as
Exhibit "A" and in the future, in order to expend City funds for payment of food
catering and photography services for the Event, in an amount not to exceed One
Thousand Five Hundred Thirty -Five Dollars ($1,535.00), each quarterly networking
event; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that it is the best interest of
the City and its residents to approve expenditure related to Mayor Taylor's Business
Luncheon for Small Businesses
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. RECITALS ADOPTED.
The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
SECTION 2. AUTHORIZATION
The City Commission of the City of Opa-Locka hereby authorizes expenditure for
quarterly recurring expenditures (for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2022-2023),
related to Mayor Taylor's Business Luncheon for Small Businesses, in an amount
not to exceed One Thousand Five Hundred Thirty -Five Dollars ($1,535.00), each
quarterly event.

SECTION 3. SCRIVENER'S ERRORS.
Sections of this Resolution may be renumbered or re -lettered and corrections of
typographical errors, which do not affect the intent of this Resolution may be
authorized by the Interim City Manager, following review by the City Attorney,
without need of public hearing, by filing a corrected copy of same with the City
Clerk.
SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE DATE
This Resolution shall take effect upon the adoption and is subject to the approval
of the Governor or Governor's Designee.

Staff Summary:
It is imperative the City ensures that small businesses are supported and have all the necessary tools,
resources, and current information for success. Therefore, Mayor Taylor quarterly hosts a networking event
curated for the City's business community. This event requires an approval of expenses for food catering and
photography services in an amount not to exceed $1,535.00.
Financial Impact - This expense will be charged to Mayor Taylor's allocated discretionary budget within the
City Commission Special Events budget.
Proposed Action:
It is recommended that the City Commission authorize the expenses related to Mayor Taylor's Small Business
Luncheon, not to exceed $1,535.00.
