. Friday February 9t h, 1934.The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of .
Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at. the office of said Boar
Friday February 9th, 1934, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said
Board, Messrs, Crabb, Schnieder and Williams being present, the fol-
lowing proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read.
The Board on motion, award contract for automobiles for M.E.L ..& P . P.
as per aids received January 29; 1934, as follows :
" Campbell Auto Sales, for furnishing One 6 cy. Plymouth DeLux Sedan
735.00 less 4178. 50, for Old Essex as . part payment, Net• - 4556. 50
" Ridenour, Studebaker Sales, for furnishing One 6cy. Studebaker, De-
Tux, 88 HP. Shatter-proof glass-4893.00 less 4213 .00, for Old Dodge
as part payment : or- net price of-a__-4680.00.
Sup 't. , of Light Plant was authorized to purchase traffic lights,
sauce as ones at 12th 6: Main Streets and install the same at 11th
Main Streets, and place one of the present type lights at North 9th
and "A" Streets.
Sup 't . , of Light Plant, was directed to removes the present Light
Standard in front of City Hall., and install a bracket light on build-
ing in place of light removed.
The Board sign contract with Dearborn Chemical Co. , of Chioago, I11. ,
for Water Treatment Service at Light Plant - for year, at rate of 430. 0
per month or $360.00 for the year.
Pursuant to advertisement, the Board received bids for acuminated
junk at light plant as follows, to-wit :
' San Jaffe Co, bid :
Scrap Copper--�m'5. 50 CWT. ;Scrap iron-4 5.30 Net Ton; Auto Tires 45.01
Net Ton; Inner Tubes-41. 50 CWT. The bid being the :only one received
it was referred to Sup 't . , of Light Plant for investigation and repo t.
The City Civil Engineer, reported a tentative offer of the Earlhara
Cemetery Association, that the City could have the gravel at their
grounds abutting the. cities property used as contagious hospital if
city would strip the pit, the question of the hospital at the present . -
location was discussed, the City having purchased ground on what is
known as Newmans Hill sonic years. ago for hospital site, the matter o1
having a contagious hospital in connection with the Reid Memorial
Hospital, was brought up for discussion, and the Clerk was directed
to correspond with the Trustees'of Reid Memorial . Hospital, for:. a, meets .
ing to .confer- as to the advisability of installing or erecting con-
tagious ward at hospital.
Claims in amount of 0.9, 9S6. 76, were allowed.
