January 29th, 1934. - — The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Boars Monday January 29th, 1934, at 9 o ' clock A.L . A11 the members of said Board, Messrs, Crabb, Schnieder and Williams being present, the fol- lowing proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read. Mr. Schnieder, reported in matter of rent for half of double residenle property on East lain Street at Glen Miller Park, rented by Mr. Chas Broerman, formerly employed by Park Department, and recommended on account of health of Mr. Broerman and existing conditions, that the City reduce the rent of Mr. Broerman, to �'$,'10. 00 per month, unanimous ly concurred in by Board. Mr. Schnieder, reported that he had investi- gated as to damage done to the property of Chas. Shui_:aker, across fr �m Glen Miller Park on east Main Street, purported to have been caused froth blowing out stumps in the park by former superintendent Mr. Cleo Carr, stated the property was damaged from some cause, but he was no inclined to blame the city or make any recodnrnenda.tions in the matter as the claim is made that this damage was done approximately four years ago, and so far as he wes concerned it was the first he had- heard of it, and he could not understand why action had not been tak n sooner in the matter. Sir. Hess, submitted tentative rules to be presented to the Public Ser- vice Commission,, in matter of rates to be charged for electric cur- rent , to conform to said commissions ruling governing the same,&ehe l as told to present application for said rules to said commission in person on Wednesday of this week . Upon recommendation of Mr. Hess, Mr. Crandall of Light Plant , was authorized to attend the National Meeting of Lighting Companies to b-, held at Chicago, Ill. , at expense of Light Plant . In matter .of complaint registered against :.E.L. & P. P . by Lillian Shofer, in matter of removing trees in laying conduits and ouilding of transformer pit in South "Aj1 Street, referred to Mr. Hess, Supt . , of Plant at last meeting of Board. Mr. Hess, reported that he had taken up the matter with the City Attorney, and had been advised by him that the City were within their rights, in doing said work , Mr. Hess, was authorized by -the Board to proceed with said work. Pursuant to advertisement, the Board received bids for furnishing thi Municipal Electric Lighting & Power Plant, One light 5 passenger, 4 door Sedan; and One 5 passenger, 4 door Sedan, Dodge,Buick or equal and trade in One Essex Brougham, and One Dodge Senior 6 Sedan, an part payment on new cars proposed to be purchased as follows, to-Wait " W.
