The Special Council Committ:ee,Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Friday January 26th, 1934, a.t 9 o 'clock A.M..All the members of said Board Messrs, Crab'b, Schnieder and Williams being present, the following pro- ceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the proceeding meeting were read and approved. The Board ordered the chairs in council chamber, repaired by recain- ing the seats i-- chairs at cost of p26.00. • Mr. Schnieder,was authorized to investigate as to request for lowering rent of dwelling house in Glen Park, also as to damage done to proper i ty across from Glen Miller Park by blasting, of stumps, by former Park Sup 't. , Clem Carr. The following com_iunication was received, and referred to Light Plant; I was greatly perturbed upon returing to my home at r;30 Tuesday Jan. 9, to find that workmen in the employ of the M.E.L. & P.P . had two of my trees removed without my knowledge or consent .Naturally, I felt aggreived, The removal of the century " " t own sorely .:ark ELI�i• �-Na�ures jewel—the pride of SouthA Street was resented by residents of Rich- mond at large and its loss to the owner, is irreparable. In regard to the anticipated plan of placing a transformer in front of my property at 616 S.A St, I am appealing to the Board of Works t reconsider the matter. As it appears oto me, the location of the venti lators on the sidewalk will not only be obnoxious bu dangerous and a possiaae nuisance for future business requirements where my property is concerned. - Should it be possible to grant my request without serious Inconven- ience to your plans,may I depend upon you: fair and just judgment an generous co-operation in offering me some material consideration for 11 the loss of the " Sentinel of South A Street as -well as the conveni en.e of the location of the transformer with the assurance in writing, that there will be no risk, restriction or damage, whatsoever, to be suffered by me, in the future as the result of the proposed improve- .ment to the City and Lunicipal Electric Light Company Awaiting your reply, I remain, - Respectfully yours, Lillian M. Bankowski , appeared before the Board, complaining that the City had taken -down his garage, at property located at North loth & " i`' Streets, Mr. Bankowski, was informed that the garage was in the street, 'and had to be removed in order to improve the street, Mr.- Bankowski, was assured that he owuld not be assessed for making of i the street, upon this assurance being given, he withdrew his com- plaint .
