The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works, of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board' Friday December 1st, 1933, at 9 o °clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Crabb, Schnieder and Williams being present, the fol- lowing proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved. In matter of injuries sustained by the son of Milton Schneider, and the son of Chas. Kuhlman, at Glen Miller Park Playground, it was re- ported that both of the boys had recovered, and all claims for damage has been adjusted, by the Indemnity Insurance Company, of North America, with the parents of said boys. The Board approved the action of Mr. Hess Sup 't. of Light Plant in contracting for two cars of coal per. day from the Tri-States Coal Co. , at price of $1. 20 f. o.b.mines on their Kanawha & Hocking coal, to be delivered during the month of December, 1933, the same being the low- est and best bid received on the B.T.U. The Board received communication, addressed to the Mayor from Mr. C.O.Shaff er, of 5800 West 3rd Street, Dayton, Ohio. , offering to pres- ent to the City, a female bear 6 years old, to be placed in cage at Glen Miller Park, stating the City may have this bear free of charge, for the keeping, provided, a sign is placed on the cage, stating who presented the bear, together with the age, kind and where she was captured at, and to let him know as quickly as possible, if Richmond is interested. The Board accepted the same, and directed the Sup 't. of Parks to get in touch with said C. O.Shaffer. Mr. Coleman Sup 't. of Parks, was authorized to apply for 100 addition- al un-employed men to work on Glen Miller and Clear Creek, _projects under the C.W.A. and to place the men at work Monday next if request is granted by the County Chairman of P.W.A. • The Board meet to hear remonstrances if any, of persons whose property is primarily assessed under Declaratory Resolution No. 248-193 , for the vacation of Northwest HE" Street (formerly -Chestnut Street) from Northwest 5th Street, west to the first alley running north & south. No one appearing or remonstrating, the Board approved a final assess- ment roll of benefits and damages heretofore approved, and now direct the same be forthwith transmitted to the Department of Finance, and declare said portion of Northwest "E" Street vacated.
