The Special Council Committee,Board .of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday November 20th, 1933,. at 9 o 'clock A.M.All the members of Board . Messrs, Crabb, Schnieder and Williams being present, the following proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved. In matter of placing conduits etc. , in the undeground system of the i.E.L.& P.P. to take care of the city 's fire alarm system, referred to Mr. Hess, Sup 't. , of Plant, October 13, 1933, Mr. Hess,reported that the Light Plant would place conduits for said system, together with extensions needed by fire department for alarm system, neces- sary in first alley north of Main Street, from 4th Street east with- out cost to city except necessary cable, Mr. Hess, was directed to write the Board a letter to that effect . Upon the suggestion of Mr. Hess, the Board direct the Clerk to noti- fy the City Attorney, to prepare petition to be presented to the Public Service Commission, of Indiana, requesting that the matter of M.E. L.& P.P. paying interest to their Depreciation Reserve Fund on money borrowed from said fund, in installing new turbine and boil- ers, be eliminated as it was the thought of the Board, that it was .unnecessary and unwise, to have pay interest on their own money. Mr. Hess, submitted a tentative budget for the M.E.L.& P. P. for the year 1934+, which was approved and clerk instructed to prepare bill for an _ordinance on same and submit it at the meeting of council this evening. The question of the President 's Relief program, was brought up and it was reported that the projects proposed by the city, had been approved by the relief administrators, Messrs, Schneider and Coleman Street Commissioner and Park Sup 't . , were authorized to purchase all shovels, picks etc. , necessary and to make every possible effort to place men to work on the different projects at once, men applying to have credentials signed by Mr. Elmer Kreimeier, of the Indiana Governor ' s Committee, having charge of said employment for the City of Richmond and Wayne County, Indiana. The Street Commissioner and Park Sup 't. , were further directed to investigate and report as to employing the necessary amount of trucks needed on various projects, and the amount the city would be compelled to pay for use of said trucks only, the drivers coming under the payroll of relief.
