HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-20-1933 Office of Special Council Committee City of Richmond, Indiana, Friday October 20th, 1933e - -- _—_ The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board, Friday October 20th,1933, at .9 o8clock A.M.All the members of Board being present, Messrs, Crabb, Schnieder and Williams, the following proceedings were had, to-wit: The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved. The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No, 2L l933, for the vacation of Northwest "E" Street, (formerly Chestnut Street) from Northwest 5th Street, west to 1st alley running north & south. Recommended by the City Planning Commission. Complaints of Councilman Benn, submitted at last council meeting and referred to the Board as follows were read, to-wit : The Hedge on south side of National Road west, from Southwest 16th Street west; Bad sidewalks at ,intersection of Northwest 3rd & Kinsey Street, re- ferred to the Street Commissioner;. Request for lower light rate on south side of Southwest"E"St'reet, from river to Southwest 2nd Street; also, request for light at Dodge Street and Whitewater Boulevard, was referred to Supet. , of Light Plant. The City Civil Engineer and. Street Commissioner, were authorized to resurface North 19th Street north of railroad. Messrs, Hess, Crabb. and Mayor Harris, were authorized to make trip to General Electric Plant at Schenectady, N.Y. to investigate best method for underground system of wiring, expenses .to be paid from Light Plant funds.
