A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, APPROVING A
LEASE OF COPIER EQUIPMENT AND A PURCHASE
ORDER BETWEEN THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE AND
CANON BUSINESS SOLUTIONS; PROVIDING FOR
IMPLEMENTATION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the Village Council desires to lease copier equipment from Canon Business
Solutions (the "Consultant"); and
WHEREAS, the Village Council finds that no competitive bidding is required for the lease
of the equipment and approval of the Purchase Order pursuant to Village Code Section 2-86, which
authorizes the Village Manager to enter into bids or contracts entered into by another governmental
entity with substantially similar competitive bidding procedures, as well as Section 2-85 of the
Village Code, which authorizes waiver of competitive bidding upon the Village Council hereby
finding that it is impracticable to apply competitive bidding procedures in light of the need to
expeditiously proceed with the lease ; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council finds that approval of Purchase Order 175 (the "Purchase
Order") attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and the lease of copier equipment between Consultant and
the Village is in the best interest of the Village.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL
OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Recitals Adopted. That each of the recitals stated above is hereby adopted
and confirmed.
Section 2. Lease Approved. That the lease of the copier equipment from Consultant,
as described in the Purchase Order, for $1901.00 per month, subject to the terms and conditions of
Contract #ITNO7DD-162YC between Consultant and the University of Florida attached hereto as
Exhibit "B," is hereby approved.
Section 3. Purchase Order Approved. That Purchase Order 175 (the "Purchase
Order"), in substantially the form attached hereto, is hereby approved, and the Village Manager is
hereby authorized to execute the Purchase Order on behalf of the Village, subject to approval of the
Village Attorney as to form and legal sufficiency.
Section 4. Implementation. That the Village Manager is hereby authorized to take any
necessary action to implement the lease of the equipment, the Purchase Order, and this Resolution.
Section 5. Effective Date. That this Resolution shall be effective immediately upon
adoption hereof.
