HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-17-1933 184 • • Office of Special Council Committee City of Richmond, Indiana, • Monday April 17th, 1933. — The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session 'at the office of said Board .Monday April ' 17th, 1933, at 9 o 'clock• A. M. All the members of said 'Board, Messrs, Crabo, Schnieder and Williams, .oeing present, the fol- lowing proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes df the preceeding meeting were approved as read. • The Clerk was "directed to prepare a bill appropriating $28,000.00 out of earnings of Light Plant, for constructing new side track at said plant, and present the same to the common council for action. George Brehm, appeared before the Board with a committee, requesting permission to construct two soft-ball diamonds in West Side Park; permission was granted with the understanding, that said work was to be 'done free of any cost to the City. Upon recommendation of .the City Civil Engineer and Street Commission- er, the Board awarded contracts for bituminous materials and stone & gravel necessary for th-e coming year, to the following concerns at • prices bid on said various materials April lei-th, 1933, viz: ' All Bituminous materials applied by distributer-E.A.Mariani Co. Inc. All Emulsified Asphalt" not applied W. L. Magaw. All' other Asphalt in "Tank car lots, Standard Oil Company, (except that the cost of placing in drums, 'where such is done, should be con ' -sidered and i'f a more favorable price drummed, will result from pur- chase from E.A.Mariani Co. Inc. , it oe purchased from that company. ) All Powdered Asphalt, E." A. Mariani Co. , Inc. , All Tar and Asphalts, except emulsified, in drum lots when - less than car load, E. A. Mariani Co. , Inc . , All Rock Asphalt----Ohio Valley Rock Asphalt Co. , Plant Hot-Mix; W. L. 'Magaw "Stone" r Erie Stone Co. , • Gravel, if purchased under these bids; Crushed, American Aggregates Corp. , ; Pit-Run---Richmond Gravel Co. , ; All other gravel or sand from Shera Sand & Gravel' Co.-, Richmond Gravel Co. , American Aggre- gates Corp. , ( whichever will result- in the most favorable price de- livered to the site of the specific work by City' trucks.
