HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-03-1933 17 Office of Special Council Committee • City of Richmond, Indiana, Friday February 3rd, 1933, The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Boari Friday February .3rd, 1933, at 9 o 'clock A. ' 1l. Messrs; Schnieder and Williams present ; Mr. Crabb absent ; Two members of said Board being present. The following proceedings were had, -to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved. Bingham, Mendenhall & Bingham, attorneys, served notice on the City that Albert D.• Kelly, and his wife, Elizabeth Kelly, both of Indian- apolis, Indiana, will file suits for personal injuries and property damage against the City of Richmond, arising out of an accident with in the corporate limits of said city December 2, 1932, as a reault of the negligence of agents of said city, and because of defective condition of street, causing their automobile in which they were riding to upset, injuring both parties. abut the head, body & limbs and danaging their said automobile, referred to City Attorney. The Sup 't . ; of Light Plant , received quotations for equipment at I� Light Plant for circulating water piping, as follows, to-wit : Cra Pittsburgh Piping & 1iquipment Company j1907.80 = Shaw,Kendall Engineering 2351. 15 Midwest Piping & Supply Co. , 2453.35 Cleo. B:: Limbert & Co. , 2468.. 97 Crane Company 2822.10 Pittsburgh Valve , Foundry & Construction Co. , 3021.80 Whereas, an emergency exists for securing this equipment at .the earliest date possible, the Board awarded the contract for said eq- uipment to Pittsburgh Piping & Equipment Co. , The Board inview of the fact that the streets are in proper _conditio cancel! the Maintenance Bonds given by Lee Ridgeway, . contractor _and • United States Fidelity' &Guarantee Co. , as surities, as of date of December 1930, under Improvement Resolutions No 's. 081-1927 and 886-1929, for improvement of South 22nd Street, Reeveston Road to South "E" Street; also, Dodge Street and Southwest 1st Street from South "D" -to "E" Street . The Clerk was authorized to advertise for aids for truck for Street L'epartment, under specifications to be prepared by Street Commission er: . Sup 't. , of Light Plant , reported the city due to their. economy polio, saved in Street Lighting, Parks, alleys, etc. , compared with 1931 the sum of $1835. 60; Municipal Building Lighting, $348.17, increase in Power current , '4.190.33 .
