Office of Special Council Committee
City of Richmond, Indiana,
Friday January 20th, 1933.
The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of
.Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board •
Friday January 20th, 1.933, at 9 o 'clock A.M. Messrs, Schnieder and
Williams present ; Mr. Crabo Absent ; two members of said Board being
present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting Were read and approved.
William Johnson, was granted permission to use the ground belonging
to the City, on what is known as Newmans Hill, for gardening pur-
poses during the year 1933, with the understanding that he keep the
and noxious growths and weeds cut from the premises.
Geo. H. Kramer, was authorized to make certain changes in wiring
at city building, by running a special circuit of if-6 wire direct
from the main fuse cabinet in basement, to present equipment, in-
stalling a 60 ampere safety switch with fuses near photography
equipment, at price of 120.00.
De,. 0. Hess, Ov_p ' t . of Light Plant made a verbal report to the
Board, of meeting with the various city officials and committees
in matter of pending legislation concerning certain phases of the
amendments to the Public Utilities Act, and requested the Board in-
form him or instruct him as to their views of the matter, the Board
after some discussion voicing their objections to paying county and
state taxes and the city not being permitted to use their surplus
earnings from the plant, the Board informed Mr. Hess, that as he wa.s
more familiar with the pending amend:rPr.ts, they suggested he use
his best judgment in an effort to assist in bringing the acts to
a point more favorable to municipally owned utilities.
Claims in amount of. 01451, 27 were allowed.
