Office of Special Council Committee. .
City of Richmond, Indiana,
Friday December 16th, 1932.
The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said
Board, Friday December .16th, 1932, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the mem-
bers .of said Board, Messrs, Crabb, Schnieder and Williams, being
present, the following proceedings were'had, to-wit :
The .minutes of3the preceeding meeting were read and approved.
The Board received a letter from the Richmond Water Works Corp. ,
calling attention to the necessity and importance of receiving
notices from the Chief of the Fire Department and the Street Com-
missioner, when hydrants are used during the winter months,
Stating all hydrants had been thorotaghly inspected prior to this
cold weather, and were left in good condition. Later inspection
disclosed two or more hydrants stuck, and found they had been
used by one or the other of these two departments.
The Board directed the clerk to notify both the fire chief and
street commissioner, of the important necessity, to report to
Said Water Works Corp. , immediately when using or having used
such hydrants. •

D. C. Hess, Sup ' t. , of Light Plant, was authorized to go to Prince-
ton, Indiana, in an effort to make sale of turbine and other •
equipment taken from plant, as requested by a proposed purchaser
of said equipment located at Princeton, Indiana,
The Board directed the Clerk, to request City Attorney R.K. Shive-
ley, to meet with them at their next meeting Monday December 19,
1932. , and report as to what has been done, if anything in matter
of the threatened action, by Attorney, John F. Robbins, in case
of damages alleged to have been sustained at Glen Miller Park play
grounds, last June by Leonard Reece.
The Board approved the various payrolls, to December 16th, 1932.
Claims in amount of $1073. 69, were allowed.
