Office of Special Council Committee;
City of Richmond, Indiana,
Monday October 10th, 1932.
The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said
Board, Monday October 10th, 1932, at 9 oarlock A. M. All the mem-
bers of said Board, Messrs, Crabb:, Schnieder and Williams, being
present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.
The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 247-1932,
for the vacation of (72) feet off the north side of South "B" St.
from west line of South 2nd Street to the east line of the right
of way of the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway of Indiana.
Upo recommendation of City Plan Commission:-
The Board approved and accepted Warranty Deed, from Cora M. Carman
widow; Mary Carman Slade, widow and James S. Carman, single man,
said grantors being the only heirs of James C. Carman, deceased.
For a part of the southwest quartwe of. Sec. 31, Twsp. 14, Range
1, west, comprising 4.40 acres. The consideration exclusive of tax-s
and improvement assessment thereon, to be paid by said city, the
City to pay said grantors, the sum of $100.00. (See Deed) to be plid
out of City Plan Commission funds.
The Board order the extension telephone in the City Civil Engineers
Office; and the telephone No. 4045, in the name of the Building
Inspector 's Office discontinued said phones to be removed before
the first of November, 1932.
The Clerk was directed to notify the Board of Public Safety, to
investigate and see if some of the telephones used by the Police
Department,. could not be discontinued and removed.
Upon recommendation of Sup °t. , D. C. Hess, the Board awarded the
contract to the Swartwout Company, for furnishing the light plant
Steam Desuperheater, Pressure Reducing Valves and Steam Turbine
Starting Valves, under Items # 2-3 & 4, as per their bid of Sept. ,
19th, 1932, Items #2 & 3, 0.200.00 Item #4- 350.00.
Claims in amount of $3,221.06 were allowed.
The Board then adjourned,
