M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Orabo, Schnieder and Williams, being present . The fol- lowing proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read. Permission was granted The Kleh_foth-Voss Co. , to cut the curb at their property on Northwest corner of North 3rd & "A" Streets . A petition signed by Herman F. Pilgrim 's Sons, inc . , for extension of water main in Northwest 5th Street, from Linden. Avenue to School Street, was received and referred to hichmond Water Works Corporation for investigation and report . The Sup ' t . , of Light Plant , was authorized to return certified checks deposited with bids on '0ondensor & Auxiliaries, to firms whose oids on said equipment were eliminated on account of price submitted or financial responsioility. Sup 't . , of Light Plant was authorized to contract with the United Galleries, for two cars of coal per day for the next 30 days, at price of 0. 35 per ton f. o. b. mines. • The Board decide that the 3% added to light plant bills for current used by the consumer, as charged under the•.Federal Government tax law, be paid by the consumer as provided for in said law, as the electric energy rates had been reduced by the city plant in the spring, it would be unfair for the city plant :: gay the same, as it would virtually be another reduction of ra,_ i -f; certain class of con- sumers of electric energy. The City Attorney reported he had examined the policy of insurance 111 executed by the Indemnity Insurance Co. , of .North America, to the City covering public liability in the city parks, resulting from bodily in- juries accidently suffered or alleged to have been suffered by persons Slr:l?7''Ssee- nWSsllde ti using g , s , ding pools, and all play devices that are incidental to play grounds, tennis courts & picnic grounds in said parks, but not in swimming pools. Stating apparantly, this policy is in proper form, but I know nothing whatever about the financial standing and ability of the Indemnity Insurance Co . , of North America, which has executed the policy. You . will have to make an investigation of this from some other source than from your legal department . It seems to me that there ought to be submitted with the policy a statement by the insuror showing its financial condition and the amount of insurance which it has in force . The Clerk was directed to request a statement from the Indemnity In- surance Co . , of North America, thru the Peitz Insurance Agency, for a statement showing the financial condition and amount of insurance p. in force by said company. Claims in amount of 085. 13 5. 13 were allowed, the Board approved the • various payrolls to August 16th, 1ti32. The Board then adjourned, Prest . of Board Attest : 211/a5 Clerk of loa.rd
