Friday June 17th, 1932.
• The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City '
of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said
Board Friday June 17th, 1932, at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members of
said Board, Messrs, - Crabb, Schnieder and Williams, being present •
the following proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meetings were read and approved. .
Permission was granted W.G.Huffnian, to cut the curb around and in
front of Lot No. 9,. N.P. J: Cox, Addition at corner of Ft. Wayne
Ave. and North 5th Street, at gasolinic filling station.
Dr. M.F.Johnston, Secy. , of Board of Public Health, appeared before •
the Board, stating, that the river above the Morton Lake Dam, was .
a menace to public health to the persons living in that district,
stating that the Dam should be destroyed to keep the channel clear
of stagnent water, referred to City Engineer and Street Commission r
for investigation and report as what can be done in the matter.
Upon request of S..W.Milligan, County Agricultural Agent permissio
was granted to use Glen .Miller Park for camping of the 4 H club
convention to be held about August 2nd to 5th, 1932, consisting of
the 4 °H" clubs of Wayne, Henry, Union, Randolph, Franklin and- -
Fayette Counties., Mr. Miligan was instructed to see Park Sup 't.
Coleman and Light . Plant Sup 't. , for making necessary arrangements
for holding of said convention..
The Street Commissioner was directed to repair the bridge at South
• 16th & "J" Streets, and the City Engineer was directed to. investi-
gate as to needed repairs to happy hollow swinging bridge, togethe
with estimate cost of repairs.•

The Clerk was directed to have Insurance Agencies to bid on cost
of carrying Compensation Insurance on the employees of the Munici-
pal Electric Lighting & Power Plant for the coming year beginning
July 1st.
Sup 't . , Hess, reported, that the economic program on lighting put
into effect on street ' lighting and current used in the City Build-
ings, has saved the City of Street Lighting, 7.7% and 10% on build
ings for the month of May, also that the earnings of the Light Plait
for the month of May was $14,412.15 as compared with 0.92 640.40
' last year being $5228. 25 less than May, 1931. .Cash and investments
in all funds June 1st, 1932, amounted top820,416.24'. report was
ordered placed on file. •
The Board approved the various payrolls to June 16, 1932.
The Board then adjourned,
