Office of Special Council Committee
City of Richmond, Indiana,
Wednesday June l4th, 1932.
The Special Committee of Council, Board of Public Works of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, met in called session at the office of said
Board, Wednesday June 14th, 1932, at 3 o 'clock P. M. Messrs, Wil-
liams and Schnieder, present Mr. Crabb absent . Two members of said
Board being present, the following proceedings were had, to-wit :
The meeting was called for the purpose of taking action against
Sam Jaffe, contractor for furnishing materials to M.E.L.& P.P. and
I the bondsmen of said Sam Jaffe under said contract, the following
notices were approved by the Board viz: . .

Dear Sir:
,You are hereby notified that according to the terms of you-
contract with the City of Richmond, Indiana,dated the 8th day of Apri
1932, by which you agreed to fabricate and furnish to the City of
Richmond certain materials for use in the Municipal Electric Light-
ing & Power Plant of. said City of Richmond, and pursuant to the noti e
heretofore given you on the 6th day of June, 1932, by said City of
Richmond, that you comply with the terms of your contract, and since
you have not complied with the terms of your. contract in reference to
said matters, the same is now hereby terminated, and the City of Ric -
mond is notifying your bondsmen accordingly, and will now proceed
under the terms of your contract to have said work done and completed
by other parties.

Gentlemen:
You are hereby notified that the undersigned, the City of
Richmond, Indiana, has this day terminated the contract between it a d
Sara Jaffe of the City of Richmond, Indiana, dated the 8th day of
April, 1932, by which contract the said Sam Jaffe- agreed to fabricat:
and furnish certain materials for the use in the improvement of the
buildings. and plant of the Municipal Electric Lighting '& Power Plant
of the City of Richmond, Indiana, pursuantrto the terms of said con-
e tract and pursuant to the notice given to said Sam Jaffe on the 6th
day of June, 1932, and that said City of Richmond has elected to pro-
ceed according to the terms of said contract to have the said work
done and completed by other parties, as provided by the terms of sail
contract, for the reason that the said Sam. Jaffe. has failed to carry
out the provisions of said contract in the execution of said work in
the manner provided for by said contract, and has failed to 'deliver
• and furnish said work within the time and of the quality stipulated
thereby.
You are further notified that the City of Richmond will
• hold you liable for any loss by reason of said failure of the said
Sam Jaffe under the terms of your contractor 's bond executed by you
on the 14th day of April, 1932. .

Both of the above notices were signed by said above named members
and Superintendent of Municipal Electric Lighting & .Power Plant in-
structed to have said notices served on said Sam Jaffe and said
Commercial Casualty Insurance Company 's agents.
