City of Richmond, Indiana,
Monday June 6th, 1932.

The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Boar
Monday June 6th, 1932,, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said
Board, Messrs, Crabb and Schnieder being present . The following pro-
ceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Hess, Sup 't . , of Light Plant, together -With John W. Mueller and
Garfield Dixon, appeared before the Board, stating that Sam Jaffe
contractor for furnishing steel and coal bunker at light plant , hasI/
been very dilatory in filling his contract on steel, , stating he had
assumed the responsibility in this matter as long as he thought he
ought , therefore he desired to advise the Board to report the matter
to The Commercial Casualty Insurance Company, the bondsmen of said
Sam Jaffe, also to notify Sam Jaffe, to have this material in posi-
tion within seven (7) days from this date, to prove that he intends
to go ahead and complete this job in a businesslike manner, if not
the surety on his bond be called upon to finish the work as provided
under the contract and specifications.

The Clerk was directed to serve notice on the said Sam Jaffe, to
comply with said plans and specifications as above outlined within
seven (7) days from this date, under the penalty as provided for in
the contract; and to. also notify The Commercial Casualty Insurance
_Company, through their agents the Hamilton-Hoch Insurance Agency, of
the Boards action in said matter.
fire Chief Harry Williams, was authorized to purchase the necessary
paint required for painting at No. 5 Hose house, firemen to do the
painting. .
The Board awarded contracts for coal as follows, to-wit :
"150 tons more or less, City Building, West Va. N.& S. @ 3 . 67 "ton.
to John . Longstreth.
"7g tons, # 2,4 & 5 Engine Houses, to Richmond Coal Co. , for Poca-
hontas washed Slack coal @ 04.42 ton, delivered
"20 tons more or less, Pocahontas Lump or Egg, 43 Engine House $5.10
ton, & 10 tons Poca.M.R. @ $4. 70 Detention Hospital, Taylor & Thompson.
One car Pocahontas M.R. on track for Glen Park. to Muff Coal & Grain
Co. , 43.97 per ton.
Claims in amount of $16, 286. 55 were allowed.

The Sup 't . , of Light Plant was authorized to proceed with the work
of cleaning the river _above the daia subject to appropriation now
before the common council.
The Board then adjourned,
