The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of . said Board, on Friday April 8th, 1932, at 9 o 'clock A. M. Messrs, Crabb. and Schnieder present ; Mr. Ford absent ; Two members of said Board being present, the following proceedings were had, to-wit : The. minutesof the. preceeding meeting were approved as read. Permission was granted Nick Deleo, to cut the curb for driveway at South 5th & "L" Streets, Lot 514, Southeast corner. The Board signed the contracts for materials etc.. , awarded to Sant Jaffe & Co. , Thos. Turner & Son, and the Indiana Bridge Co. , under Items Numbered 1-2-3-4-5 & 6, of specifications for Munici- pal Electric Lighting & Power Plant. Claims in amount of $18, 549.22 were allowed. The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board, on Monday April llth, 1932, at 9 o 'clock A, M, . Messrs, Crabb, and Scnieder present; Ir. Ford, absent ; two members of said Board being present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read. Permission was granted Chas. Johanning, to cut' the curb for drive- way on south side of South "L" Street, at Lot No. 24, East Oaklana • Addition. The Street Commissioner was authorized to prepare specifications for a new truck for street department, with trade in of old truck and present same to City Clerk, for advertising of bids to be re- ceived on purchase of new truck. The City Civil Engineer was authorized to estimate the cost of surfacing the walks in South 10th Street and South 7th Street parks, .with emulisified -asphalt, the same to be paid for out of City 's parts of Public Improvements. Claims in amount of $5706. 61 were allowed. The Board then adjourned, Prest. of Board, pro-tem. The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board . Monday April 4th, 1932, at 9 o 'clock A.M. Messrs, Schnieder and Crab'r present ; Mr. Ford absent . Two members of said Board being present. The following proceedings were had., to-wit : The minutes of the nreceeding meeting were read and approved. Upon recommendation of Mr. Hess, Sup 't . , of Light Plant, the Board awarded the contracts for labor and material to be furnished to the . Municipal Electric Lighting & Power Plant , pursuant to bids received therefore March 2£ th, 1932, to the following firms and for prices named under cities specifications as follows, to-wit : " Sam Jaffe Co. , Item 1 - Floor for forced draft fan; Item 3 - Main • operating floor; Item 4 - Coal Bunker; Item 5 - Instrument room steel for and at the price of 44, 555.00. " .Indiana Bridge Company, Item 2 - Two Coal Chutes $ 570.00. " 'Thos. Turner & Son, Item 6 - One Air Duct 42, 150.00. " Lantz Engineering Company, Item 7 - Metal Sash 3.4. 00. " W. D. Willson, Item 8 - GaI -Sheets for coal bunker-4 345.00. " Richmond Fireproof Door Co. ,f Doors, Frames & Hrdwre.-- 280.00. " Link-Belt Co. , Item 11 - Coal Elevator & Ladder 41,407.00. Superintendent Hess, instructed to prepare contracts with the above named firms as per contracts awarded. Whereas, the bid of Klehfoth-Voss Co. , under Item 10, for Brick, was $184.00, and said brick can be purchased in open market for 4153.30; the bid was rejected, and Sup 't. , directed to purchase said brick from the Medors Brick Co. , at price of S153.30 delivered Richmond. The Superintendent of Light Plant was authorized to advertise for bids, Instrument Boards and Controls; also for necessary materials for raising roof in Engine :Room; Trade in old Dodge Truck and the automobile used by him in receiving bids for new truck and automobil- . for Light Plant. The Sup 't . , was instructed to employ necessary labor in raising the roof on Light Plant Engine room and Instrument room to the best ad- vantage of said plant. The Board approved the various payrolls to April 1st, 1932. Building Inspector Harry Hodgin, reported that the Wayne County Farm Bureau, had installed cement standards in the parkway along their place of business on Fort Wayne Ave . , advertising their business contrary to law and without permission.
