The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Boar Monday February 29th, .19.32, at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members of sa.i _ Board, Messrs, Ford, Craob and Schnieder bei-ng present, the follow- ing proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved. A communication was received from Andrew Faucett rentar of the city . property at 618 North 10th Street, known as the Starr Park property thru the City Controller, requesting the rental ofw25. 00 per month be reduced,• the Controller stating that said Faucett is behind for three months in his rent ; The Board decide that said Faucett, shall a the back rent of 00• and t' therental pay 4�75. �,nc� in. the future Hen�a for said property shall be at the rate of 415,00 per month. • The Street Commissioner was directed to set back the curbs at Laurel (now N, W. "E ' St . and Sheridan Street. ) dr. Hess, Sup 't . of Light Plant reported on the guaranteed efficien- cy of the operation of the 15, 000 K. W. turbo Eenerators and the cost as per aids received in January 1932, from the Westinghouse Electric & Mfg. Co. , and the General Electric Company; The Mayor was requested to call a meeting of the whole council for a conference on this mat- ter for this evening at 7 o ' clock P.M. The Mayor instructed the clerk to .call council together this P.M. at 7 o 'clock. • Claims in amount of . 6725. 83 were allowed. The Common Council met in an informal session together with the Mayor' ' City- Attorney and Sup ' t . , Hess of Light Plant at 7 P .M. all members present with the exception of sir. Waltermann, mr. Hess, reported on the guaranteed efficiency of the 15, 000 K . it. Turbo Generator Sets, and stated according to the report that while the General Electric Go . , aid on said .turbine & air cooler was ,;)3, 51.5. 00 higher than the one bid on by the 'Westiin:ghouse Electric & Mfg . Co . , this additional cost would be saved in the installation of the turbine; also_( as to the efficiency of t!i turbines there would be a saving of , 1 tons Of coal which on the average prices paid for coal during 1931 wouldoe a savings in actual cash of 2 68. 0; hetherefore recommended the t• � 7 ) � therefore l' o the purchase of the General Electric Turbo Generator and Air Surface Cool- er, delivered f. o.b: cars Richmond for the total sLZIP! of 234,315. 00, which was concurred in by the Mayor, City Attorney and all the coun- cilmen present, and the City Attorney was instructed to prepare a contract for the purchase of Said General Electric Turoo-Generator complete with Surface Air Cooler, from the General Electric Co. , The Board then adjourned, 4W— Prest . of Board Attest :_1:/ G L7 Clerk of Board
