Office of Special Council Committee
City of Richmond, Indiana,
Monday_ February ls _ 1_932.
The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works met in regular
session at the office of said Board Monday February 1st, 1932, at
9 o ' clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Ford, Crabb:
and Schnieder, being present, . the following proceedings were had;
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read.
A communication from the Public Service Commission of Indiana, was
received, notifying the City that the hearing on the schedule of
. rates filed with them for electric energy furnished by the Municip-
al Electric Lighting & Power Plant of this City, will be held in
the State House, Indianapolis, Indiana, on Friday February, 5th,
1932. The Board directed Sup 't. , of Light Plant be present at said
hearing, together with the City Attorney, Mayor and Rate expert
Harry Boggs to look after the cities interest in the matter.
The Clerk .was directed to prepare a resolution requesting the Judge
of Wayne County Circuit Court to appoint appraisers to appraise old
scrap copper, brass, iron, etc. , (known as junk) belonging to Light
Plant with a view of selling the same, and present the same to the
Common Council for adoption.
The Clerk was directed- to prepare a resolution, requesting the Coun-
oil Committee on Public Utilities, together with the City Attorney
to investigate as to rates charged for furnishing Gas, Telephone &
Water, with a view to having said rates .anicably adjusted by the
different utilities, in an effort of having rates reduced, and pres-
ent the same to council for adoption.
The Board received bids for furnishing castings to the City as fol-
lows, to-wit :
" The Reliance Foundry Co . , bid; Grey Iron Castings @ ' 0.L14( lb. ,
" Swayne, Robinson & Co. , bid; Grey Iron Castings 6 yp-1-,45 per hundred
" Richmond Malleable Castings Co. , Malleable castings @ i6. 50 cwt . ,
The Board instruct the Street Commissioner, to take up the matte .
with the different bidders, with a view of dividing the business on
grey iron castings equally between the two bidders.
Payrolls to February let, 1932, were approved. •
The Board then adjourned,
