' Lighting 8 Power Plant, to present the foregoing schedule of rates
for electric energy, to the Puolic Service Commission. of Indiana,
for their ratification and approval.
The following communication was received, to—wit :
Gentlemen:
Lawrence F. Orr, State Examiner, has made the following
ruling relative to tax exemptions allowed members of fire department.
The allowance of firemen ' s exemption is a matter which should be
handled by the clity or Town corporation, rather than the County.
This expense applies only to the corporation fund. The taxes should
be paid in full and then upon presentation of the tax receipt to
the common council or the Board of Trustees 'of the city or town,-
as the case may be, they can allow the proper exemption. '
Very truly yours,
W. Howand Brooks,
Auditor Wayne County, Indiana.
After some discussion the communication was referred to the City
Attorney.
