The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said -
Board, Friday Jam ar_y 5th, 1932, at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members
of said Board, . ivIessrsFord, Crabb and Schnieder, being present.
The following proceedings were had, to-wit :
- The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read.
. :The following communication was received, Jan. 5th, 1932.
Special Committee of Council
Richmond, Indiana,
Gentlemen: I beg to submit the following report on Items 1- and 2 of
bids opened December 2$, 1931, covering Turbine and Surface
Air Cooler.
I hereby recommend that all bids on Turbine and Surface Air
Cooler be rejected and certified check returned.
This recommendation is based on the thought that the prices are
to high and it isbelief that byre-advertising we mill receive

prices from 410,000.00 to $25,000.00 less. than the original bids.

Upon the above recommendation, ' the Board on motion reject all bids
received on .said equipment December 28th, 1931, and the Clerk was
directed to return the certify checks deposited with said bids, to
the Allis-Chalmers _Mfg. , Co. , the Westinghouse Electric & Mfg. , Co. ,
and the General Electric Company, and instruct the clerk to re-adver-
tise for bids on 15000 K.W. Turbo-Generator with directiconnected
exciter and one Surface Air Cooler, bids to be received Friday Janu-
ary 22nd, 1932 up to the hour of 10 :00 o 'clock A,M.
Claims in mount of 417, 589. 82 were allowed. .
The Board then adjourned,
