Office of Special Council Committee
City of Richmond, Indiana,
Monday January 4th,__ 1932.
The Special Council Comraittee,Board of Public Works of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of
said Board, Monday January 4th, 1932, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All
the members of said Board, Messrs, Ford, Crabb and Schnieder,
being present, the following proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read.
Permission was granted Horace Grim to 'cut the curb for driveway
at No. 21 North 7th Street.
Permission was granted the Citizens Finance Co. , to cut the cur
for driveway at No. 500 South ,15th Street.
The Annual report of the City Civil Engineer, Street Commission-
er, Superintendent of Park, for the year 1931, were received,
read and clerk directed to present the same to the Common Coun-
cil .at their next meeting. '
Mr. Hess, Superintendent of the Municipal Electric 'Lighting &
Power. Plant, presented a tabulated sheet showing the various
bids received for 15000 K. W. Turbo Generator; Air Cooler; Cir-
cuit Breakers, Non-Return Valves, Brick and Brick settings for
the9`new 1000 H.P. Boilers, stating that he was not ready at
this time to make recommendations on said bids, excepting that
the Clerk be directed to return the certified checks to the
Mexico Refractories Co. , the General. Refractories Co. , W. A.
Edwards & Co. , and the Brooks-Fisher Company, which bids were
all to high, the clerk was directed to return the certified
checks to said companies deposited on their bids for brick and
brick work.
Mr. Hess, also stated that he was of the opinion the bids on
the turbines were high, but wanted further time before render-
ing final decision on the same:
Appraisers , A. T.Hale,J . F.Bartel & W.H.Brooks, appraised and fix
the value of bonds in Light Plant Depreciation Fund as follows :
50,000.00-44°�0 4th issue Liberty Loan Bonds--449, 515. 63; City
of Richmond Clear Creek Sewer Bonds, $35,000.00- at 433,431. 10
City of Richmond 1 jo sewer bonds 423, 000.00 at 22,886.45.
