The Special Council Committee,Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, 'Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board, Friday December llth, 1931, at 9 o °clock A.V. All the members of said Board; Messrs-c:-,Ford,, 0rabb; and Schnieder being present, the following proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved. • A group of citizens residing in the vicinity of the Detention Hospit- al, appeared before the Board requesting that the Detention Hospital be removed from West llth & Main Streets, as petition for in March 1930) stating the same was a menace to health, and should not be lo- • cated in a resident district. The Board while being opposed to •the present location did not know at this time what can be done in the matter, on motion of Mr. Schnieder, the Board decide to hold a con- ference with the Board of Public Haelth and Trustees of Reid Memor- - ial Hospital, in an effort to having a contagion ward built in con- nection with Reid Memorial Hospital. - I`m . Upon petition of John W. Hennigar Lodge # 63 Richmond Local, of Fra- p ternal- Order of Police, they were granted permission to use the City Council Chamber for their regular meetings held the first Friday in each month at 7 :30 P.M. and for any of their special meetings which does not conflict with any of councils meetings. A light was ordered at North 2nd & Johnson Streets. The Board employe the firm of Herdrich & Boggs, accountants to pre_ pare a schedule of rates for electricity as of date of December 9th 1931, at prices quoted December 4th, 1931. The Board award- contract to the Richmond Fire Proof Door Co. , -to furnish and install 3 only 643-4 Richard Wilcox Door Closers at the Market House complete for the sum of $27.00. - John H. Niewoehner, having examined and investigated the heating system in city hall- building, reported that he will furnish all necessary material and install the same, and guarantee to deliver steam to every heating unit in the building with one pound pressure • - at boiler, and return all water to boiler, eliminating the present trouble of water being held up. in return lines to Fire Department, Police Garage, Jail and Fire Alarm equipment building for the sum of ¢950.00. The same was taken under advisement for advice from the City Attorney as to awarding contract for same.
