City of Richmond, Indiana,
Friday November 27th 1931.
The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Boar
Friday November 27th, 1931, at 9 o 'clock A.M. All themembers of said
Board, Messrs, Ford, Crabb and Schnieder being present, the following
proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read.
The Sup 't . , of Light Plant was instructed to act in conjunction -with
the committee from American Legion, and. to prepare the necessary mat-
erial and equipment and light the Christmas Tree in the Court House
lot, at the cost of light plant. Also, to install colored globes on
ornamental street lights along Main Street, during holiday season.
Mr. Hess, was authorized to make a trip of inspection and investigat-
ion of the different makes of turbines and- manufacturing plants making
the same, and to submit the cities specifications for 15000 K.W. tur-
bine to the various concerns, to be sure that nothing in the cities
specifications will prevent any concern from bidding on said turbine,
proposed to be purchased for City Light -Plant .
The Street Commissioner was instructed, to co-operate with County
Highway Sup 't . , in an effort to make some satisfactory- arrangement
in keeping graveled roads on the outskirts of the city in repair.
The Clerk was directed to have Messrs, Harry Boggs and Perk
expert 'accountants meet with the Board on next Monday A.M. for a
consultation as to their pricesin assisting the city in matter of
adjusting the rates for electricity to the consumers of M.E.L.& P.P.
as directed..and authorized by the Public Service Commission of Indiar.a.
The Board •approved final payment to John Dehner Inc. , Contractors for
South "B" Street Sewer under Improvement Resolution No. 9l -1930,
Contractors certificate No. 88, in amount of $19, 245. 80, subject to
their filing of maintenance bond for period of one year from- this
date. E ' "3, � `The Clerk was directed to notify Thos. Ryan to remove the hedge on
his ground at corner of South 13th & "Q" Streets, the same being
over the heighth specified by state law.

A report df inspection of the different boilers operated by the City
as of date of September 16th, 1931, together with various recommend-
ations made by Witt. 0. Simpson, engineer, was received together with
comaunication from Mr. Simpson that he would meet with the Board on
Monday morning .Nov. 30, 1931, in order that they may familiarize
themselves with the conditions and recommendations made.
Claims in amount of $4168.79 were allowed.
