Office of Special Council Committee_ •
City of Richmond, Indiana,
Monday November .16th, 1 31.
The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said
board, Monday November, 16th, 1931, at 9 o °clock A.I. All the mem-
bers of said Board, Messrs, Ford, . Crabb and Schnieder, being pres-
ent, the following proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.
The Board direct the City Civil Engineer, . to prepare plans and spe-
cifications for collection and removal of ashes, trash, etc. , with
. a view of advertising for bids on same by contract .
Whereas, emergencies have arisen for making additional appropriat-
ions to carry on work as begun, the clerk was directed to prepare
_ an ordinance and submit the same to council for their consideration
and action thereon as follows, to-wit :
For resurfacing part of Main Street east of Glen Miller Park;
For two new pumps and sewer work at sewage disposal plant;
For heating plant at No. -- Fire Station;
For Police Department for gasoline, oil, radio etc. , ;
For Telephone rental and insurance premiums. in sum of approximate
ly, 420,000.00.
The Clerk was directed to notify insurance agencies to write wind-
storm insurance policies on Light Plant Buildings as follows :
Jenkins Bros, $193, 000.00; Chas. D. Shideler- p185,000.00; Griffiths
Agency-430, 000.00. policies to be dated December 17th, 1931, and to
be written for three years.
In matter: of claim of Sanitary Supply Co. , of Greenville, Ohio, in
amount of 472. 73, for insect kill Ii test ; the clerk was directed to
notify said company, that the City did not order this material and
would not allow the claim, and that said material was here and. at
their orders for disposal of same.
The Board approved the various payrolls to November 16th, 1931;
' Claims in amount of $2079.44+ were allowed. _

In matter of furnishing electric current to the town of Centervill-
as requested in letter received. by the Mayor, the Board invited
the officials of Centerville, to meet with council after council
meeting this evening in Board of Works office.
