The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Friday November. 13th, 1931, at 9 o 'clock A.M. Messrs, Ford and Schnie- der present ; Mr. Crabby , absent . Two members of said Board being . present , the following proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read. • • A communication from Wm. G. Bate, Sup 't. , of Public Schools, advising that it would be agreeable to the School Board, of any action that might be taken. by the city in reference to the sidewalk on 8th St. side of Morton High School, either by repairing by the street dept. , or by awarding a contract for same and charging the cost thereof to the School city. Referred to Engineer for plans and requesting the School Trustees to let contract under city plans & specifications. The following arc lights were ordered installed, to-wit : S.W.2nd' St, in front of J.Moore School; College Ave. & S.W. "E" Sts; Boyer Street & Williamsburg Pike; South 4th & "0" Streets. Sup 't . , of Light Plant was authorized to have Tornado Insurance for Light Plant, expiring December 17th, 1931, written• by- C. D. Shidler and Griffiths Agencies, as authorized in letters to said companies last June. The Board received bids for Hot Water Heating plant in No. 4 Fire Station, complete system and Alternate bid specifying amount to be deducted if radiators are omitted in rear room American Legion room and hall -on 2nd floor, but leaving all openings for future con- nections plugged at the main runouts, as follows to-wit : " Chas. Johanning, bid; Hot Water System complete---S1590.00; Alternate deduct-$315.00. "C.L.Wright, bid; Hot Water System, complete--41598.00; Alternate deduct-4270.00. " Sears, Roebuck & Co. , bid; Hot Water System complete---41695.00; Alternate complete 41443.00. " John H. Niewoehner, bid; - Hot Water System Complete---$1755.00; Alternate, deduct-4321. 50. " Economy Plumbers, bid; Hot Water System complete---431796.00; Alternate deduct--4246.00. " M.A.Hawkes, b.id; Hot Water System complete--- 1855.00; Alternate deduct--4305.00. " Wm. H. Meerhoff, bid; Hot Water System, complete--41909.00; Alternate deduct--4347.00. " Stanley Plumbing & Electric Co. , bid; • Hot Water System-complete---$2094.00; Alternate deduct--$499.00. " J. T.. Hill, bid; Hot Water System complete---$2388.00; Alternate deduct--$320.00. The bid of Chas. Johnanning, being the lowest and best bid re- ceived, the Board tentatively award contract to said Chas. Johanning subject, however, to action of the common council as to whether ap- propriation of money for said work will be authorized. Claims in amount of $2501.49 were allowed. The Board authorize the City Civil Engineer, to order new pumps for sewage disposal plant, and council be requested to appropriate the 11 necessary amount as an emergency has arisen which must be taken care of.
