HomeMy Public PortalAbout11-09-1931 48 Office of Special Council Committee City of Richmond, Indiana, Monday November 9th,_ 1931,__ The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board, Monday November 9th, 1931, at 9 o ' clock A.M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Ford, Orabb and Schnieder being present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were .read and- approved. The Board received a petition signed by Charles Lambert, et.al, praying that North 20th Street, be graded and smoothed up by the City Street Department, from Hawkins Road to North "J" Street, so people using the street can get in and out, referred to Street Com- missioner. Pursuant to resolution passed by the Common Council, the appraisers appointed by the Judge of Wayne Circuit Court, of Indiana, to appraise certain personal property of M.E.L.& P.P. with a view of making sal thereof, reported as follows, viz: 1-7 Retort Westinghouse Underfeed stoker, value #750.00 f. o. . can 1-8" Angle-pattern triple acting nonreturn valve 50.00- 1-500 H.P.Stirling Water Tube Boiler & Soot Blower 500.00 1-2000 K. Subscribed and sworn to November 7th, 1931, Thos Turner, Garfield Dixon • Howard Gluys, Appraisers. Report of appraisement placed on file. The Street Commissioner John V. Schneider, reported that in matter • of damiges to property and shade tree belonging to Mrs. Martha Null at 121 South 3rd Street, this City. Mr. Schneider, reported that owner tah property next to 121 S.3rd Street, had granted permission to the Wayne County Highway Department, to take down the tree in front of their property, and if any damage had been done, the City was in no way responsible for the same, ' as no persons working for the City was employed in removing the old tree, The Board decide that if any damage arising from removing tree had been sustained by Mrs. Null she should take up the question with the county officials.
