HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-14-1931 32 Office of Special Council Committee City of Richmond, Indiana, _ Monday September loth, 1931. ----_____-- The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board, Monday September 14th, . 1931, at 9 o °clock A. M. All the mem1 bers of said Board, Messrs, Ford, Crabb and Schnieder being presenif the following proceedings were had, to- wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved. The Board met to hear remonstrances if any, of persons whose prop- erty is effected under Improvement Resolution No. 920-1931, for th improvement of the alley 1st north of North "F" Street, by con- structing a cement roadway the full width thereof, from North 8th to 9th Street. After careful - considering a remonstrance filed against said improvement, Mr. Schnieder moved the resolution be re- cinded seconded by Mr. Crabb, motion unanimously prevailed, and th Resolution No. 920-1931, was rescinded. • A petition was presented praying that the city have the sewer in alley between South llth. .c 12th Street on south side of South"B" Street connected with 'South "B" Street, sewer on motion the City Civil Engineer was instructed to have said sewer connection made. Residents in South "M" Street between South 4th & 5th Street, ap- peared before the Board, requesting that something be done to South °M" Street and the alleys in that locality, that the residents • may have ingress to their properties, taken under advisement for investigation by the Committee; Messrs, Hess and S.W.Hodgin, were authorized to purchase a motor for the pumps at west side sewage plant as soon as the same can belI purchased, as this is a case of emergency and .no time can be wasted in the matter. The City Attorney, was instructed to have his brief for filing with the Public Service Commission in the rate case pending,print- ed the same to be paid for by M.E.L.& P.P. Upon the recommendation of Su-pit. , D.C.Hess, the Board ordered the City Clerk, to return certified check in amount of 4107. 50, to the S.F.Sturtevant Co. , of Chicago, Ill, deposited with their bids on "Fans" for use of Light Plant, with instructtions that their bids does not meet the cities specifications. The Board expecting to be in attendance of the Municipal League of Indiana, on next Friday, they, unanimously decide thee will be no meeting on this date.
