Office of Special Council Committee

The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Boar
Friday September llth, 1931, at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members rr f
said Board, Messrs, Ford, Crabb and Schnieder being present. The
following proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.
The Board approved the bond of Thos Turner & Son, contractors for
erection of smoke stack at City Light Plant .
The Board issued Contractors Certificate No.5i1, to W. L. Magaw, con-
tractor under Improvement Resolution No. 91$71931;-,for the improve-
ment of South 16th Street, from South "E" to "H" Street, in amount
of $17,800. 65.
The Clerk was instructed to return check in amount of $85.45 deposit-
ed by the Peerless Electric Supply Co. , in filing their bid on Drum
Controls for Light Plant, their bid not complying with specifications
of the city.
P. The Clerk reported various complaints referred to them by council at
their last meeting, the complaints referrImg to streets, was refer-
red to Street Commissioner; condition of Easthaven Ave; Sheridan:
and Grant Streets, between the rails of Street Car Co, the Clerk
was directed to notify Street Car Company to make necessary repairs.
Request, for electric light in Southwest 16th Street; also on New
Paris Pike, the Committee desired to investigate before ordering
any more arc lights installed.
The City Civil Engineer, was authorized to order the necessary creo-
soted timber for Happy Hollow Bridge, from The Richmond Lumber Co. ,
at price of $85.00 per M.
Claims in amount of 017, 722, 16 were allowed.
