The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Boar '
Friday August 21st, 1931, at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members of said
Board, Messrs, Ford, Crabb. and Schnieder being present,. The follow-
ing proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.
Upon the recommendation of the City Civil Engineer, the Board order-
ed John Uehner, Inc . , contractor on South, "B" Street sewer, to leave
sheathing & bracing in place between Stations 21/00 and 31/30 in
order to protect the street and new sewer from future damage dur to
the close proximity of the water main and the unstable -condit ion of
the natural ground formation; Also to leave skeleton sheathing & the
2 lower ranges of bracing in place between stations 31/30 and --0/00
in order to protect the street and sewer from future damage due to
the close proximity of water main and the unstable condition of the
natural ground formation; skeleton sheathing shall consist of six
4 12" boards on south side and three 12" boards on north side or their
t equivalent together with four 4-"X 6" X l8 °-0"and six --"x 6" x 8 °-0"

per 10 ° bent of sheathing. Compensation for the lumber left in place
will be at the rate of $37. 50 per MFBM.
Upon recommendation of the City Civil Engineer, Ambhiar Thomas was
instructed to place such reinforcing steel in the masonry of the
Bridge Avenue bridge;. also to make such repairs to the old masonry
all, as may be directed by the City Civil Engineer, compensation .for
this work will be based on the actual cost of such work plus 15A to
cover overhead and profit .

The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 920-1931
to improve the alley 1st north of North"F"Str•eet, by' cement roadway
• from North 8th to 9th Street .
The Park Superintendent was authorized to construct cement railing
on bridge in new road constructed in Glen Miller Park, work to be

done by park employees.

A petition for water main in Parry Street, from South 9th to .l3th
gyp, Street was received, and referred to Richmond Water Works Corporat-
•
ion, for investigation and report .
The Clerk was directed to advertise for bids for construction and
erection of smoke stack at Municipal Electric. Lighting & Power Plant
bids to be received September 4th, 1331.
Claims in amount of $7,L 35. 51 were allowed.
