Office of Special Council Committee
City of. Richmond, Indiana,
Mond_ay August 10th,1931.
The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at. the office of said Boa •
Monday August- 1.Qth, 1931, at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members of said
Board, -,Messrs, Ford, Orabb and Schnieder being. present. The follow-
ing proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.
The Board approved the specifications for timber required for. bridg-
floor on the new bridge over. Whitewater River in Bridge Avenue, as
\ prepared by the City Civil Engineer, and directed the Clerk to ad-
>vertide for bids for the furnishing of said timber.
iYhereas, an emergency exists for the immediate installation of a
temporary smoke stack at the City Municipal Electric Lighting and
Power Plant, Sup 't. , Hess,was authorized to receive quotations for
furnishing and installing said stack, in an effort to expedite the
installation of the new boilers at said light plant .
The Board received notice of public hearing to be held by the Pub- ,
lic Service Commission of Indiana, at the room of the Commission,
#1+01 State House, Indianapolis, Indiana, on Thursday August 20th,
1931, at 10 o 'clock A.M. "In matter of petition of Elmer W. Stout
Receiver of the T.H. I.& E. Traction Company, for authority to aban-
don operation of Eastern Division of said Company, Motion to amend
petition. The Clerk was instructed .to notify the Kiwanis, Rotary,
and Lions Club, and the Retail Merchants Association, of said hear-
ing
.
Ciaims in amount of $20, 799..40 were allowed.
