Office of Special Council Committee
City of Richmond, Indiana,
Friday August 7th, 19_31.—
The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of
• Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Boar
Friday August 7th, 1931, at 9 o tclock A.M. All the members of said
Board, Messrs, Ford, Crabb. and Schnieder being present, the following
proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.
• Whereas, the vacancy on said Board caused by the death of R•R•Holz-
apfel, had been filled by . the Common Council at their last meeting
electing Councilman Earl Crabb, as a member of said Board, the Board
reorganized by selecting Mr. A.J.Ford,President thereof, and in orde
to better facilitate the business of the City, they, apportioned the
various duties of said Board as follows, Mr. Crabb, to have charge
of the vl. ;.L.& P.P. affairs; Mr. Ford, To look after Streets,Alleys
Sewers etc. , and Mr.Schnieder to look after the cities public bldgs,
parks, etc. ,
The Board approved the contract & bond of McMinn & Taylor contractor
for the building of Rest Room in West 7th Street Park.

The Board approved the contract & bond of Sam Jaffe Company, contract!
ors for the erection of roadway bridge across Whitewater River in
Happy Hollow.
The Board purchased 5 gallons of Miami Exterminator from L. Pawley
of Dayton, Ohio, at price of $1. 50 per gallon. •
The following grant was received and accepted by the Board, to-wit :
I hereby grant to the City of Richmond, Indiana, permission to
construct and maintain a six (6" ) inch tile drain over and across
my property Lot No. 13, S.W.Middleton,Addition, for the purpose of
II drainage for Rest Room to be constructed by the City in the West 7th
Street Park. Said drain not to rim more than 40 feet west of the
east end of said lot.

The Board approved the various payrolls of city to August let, 1931
. Claims in amount of $3, 4-37.83 were allowed.
