The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Baar - Friday July 31st, 1931, at .9 o °clock A.M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Ford and Schnieder being present. The following pro- ceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read. Permission was granted C.R.Carroll, to cut the curb at Lot 135,Reeve - ton Add: .on east side of South 19th Street, for driveway. II Permission was granted Carl Grottendick,Agt. to cut the curb at 35 South 23rd Street, for driveway. - A remonstrance signed by 67 property owners, remonstrating against closing the old South 6th vStreet sewer, from South "C11 Street south. This being a maj.ority .onthe interested property owners, the Board - on motion rescind their former action in ordering the old sewer aban- doned, and direct the City Civil Engineer, to proceed with relief sewer as originally planed in the specifications and have the con- N tractor to repair the old sewer where damaged by him. IN- CD The Board ordered Grover Bickel, to install car washer in the police . t garage at price submitted by him, i. e. 415.00, complete. The Board sign contract for Cochrane Heater with the I. C.DeHaven En- gineering Co. , according to bid February 16th, 1931. sup 't. Hess of M.E.L.& P.F. was authorized to prepare plans, etc. , for 2-underfeed Stokers; 2-10-Non-return Valves; 2-Forced draft Fans; 2-Drum Controls; 2-Boiler Feed Pumps; and 2-Instrument Boards, and advertise for bids on same to be received 10 A.M. Sep. 4th, 1931. Pursuant to advertisement, the Board received bids for construction of Rest Rooms complete in West 7th Street Park, as follows : " McMinn & Taylor,bid; Building & Equipment complete---- 683.00 11V.H.Juerling & Son, bid; ;i 1B ' ---- 710.00 "Weo.F.Scantland, bid, 11 " `1 4---4 830.00 ° A. E. Wert, bid; sl. ii is a 0p33•45. °H.H.Wagner, bid; `_° " " " 0938.20 All the above bids taken under advisement, for investigation and report Monday August 3rd, 1931. Pursuant to advertisement, the Board received bids for Roadway bridge across Whitewater River known as East Happy Hollow bridge, as follows; Sam Jaffe Company, bid; - To furnishing both concrete masonry and superstructure complete set on masonry 420595.00 complete. Extra foundation excavation necessary not in plans etc. , ,_$2.25, cu-ya. Extra Concrete Masonry necessary not in plans etc. , 013..00 " The bid of Sam Jaffe Company, being the only bid received, and be, ing within the estimate the contract was so awarded, Claims in amount of $5,842.38 were allowed.
